FAQs
Can I get my lava ring wet?
We don’t recommend it. We recommend taking your ring off to wash your hands, and if it inadvertently gets wet, drying it off as soon as you can.
How do I use my lava bead jewelry as a diffuser?
It’s super easy! Just place one drop of oil on your ring. Wait a couple seconds for it to absorb, then gently wipe the excess on a soft cloth. The ring will appear wet for several minutes, you can put it on and wear it while it dries. The scent will last about a day - maybe two.
Why are your prices higher than big retailers?
Most big retailers have lower prices because they pay their workers the minimum wage in the country the item is made. For example, many U.S. factories operate in Haiti, where the minimum wage is much less than what a livable wage would be. The average yearly wage in Haiti is $700, which means most Haitians are living on less than $2 per day. We aim to pay our artisans a livable wage, which is usually much higher than the legal minimum wage in their country. It's important to know this reality and decide what values you want to support when purchasing. You can read more about it here.
How long will it take to get my order?
We're a tiny company (think one woman band) and all orders are shipped out by me (Kara) - who also has a second full time job. With that said, most every order is shipped out within two days of receiving it. If you need to get something in a hurry, just email me at karakirtley@gmail.com and I'll shake a leg!
